Following the big setback caused by the pandemic, this Union budget seems a balanced one. Decisions such as the PMAY scheme and affordable housing will boost the economy. The positive development is that the central government — instead of banning digital currency, has decided to promote it. Having said that, it would be interesting to see how the government is going to implement the said policy.
There are some lacunas too in the budget, which could have been fixed such as there is no clarity in providing credit facility to startups. The changes in tax slabs would have allowed increasing purchasing power of salaried persons. Blue collar jobs should have been a priority which is missing.
